EAST BAY DRIVE NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
JANUARY 2009 NEWSLETTER
Welcome to 2009. Let’s hope this year marks real improvement in our nation’s economy. Once again our neighborhood had a very active year including a New Years Eve stroll, an August fundraiser, numerous work parties around the view platform, obtaining a $4,000 city grant, several Board meetings and two member social gatherings, repair of the neighborhood welcome signs and participation in Port, City Council and Coalition of Neighborhood Association meetings. We also established an EBDNA web site (www.ebhca.com and then to EBDNA) with postings of meeting minutes and the social calendar.
NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS
A new Board was elected at our October membership meeting. The officers and directors for 2009 are:
President: Richard Wolf
Vice President: Don Law
Secretary: Jill Wolf
Treasurer: Gerry Tays
Directors: Fred Adair
Brian Martin
Teri Mason
Russ Meixner
Tryna Norberg
TREASURER’S REPORT
We began 2008 with a balance of $5,144.40 and ended with a balance of $4,466.10. We accomplished a lot beyond what those numbers might suggest, in large part due to our successful efforts to secure in excess of $3,700 in grants from the City of
Olympia. We were able to donate $1,000 to the Bigelow House Preservation Society from funds raised at the August neighborhood fundraiser. We begin 2009 in a solid financial position to carry on the activities of your neighborhood association.
